Gartner writes, “Tune (known as HasOffers prior to its 2014 rebranding) acquired Artisan Mobile [now In-App Marketing] in 2015. The TUNE technology provides direct marketers and agencies with a white-label platform for creating and managing affiliate networks for in-app advertising. The product includes a way to track acquisition channels, such as an ad placement, with success events such as app installs, purchases and engagement. TUNE’s MobileAppTracking [now Attribution Analytics] solution provides attribution analytics to help affiliate marketers make their ad buys more effective.
“The [In-App Marketing] technology focuses on mobile experience management. Its platform helps nontechnical users to perform A/B tests, swap content, and make changes to mobile apps and websites without rewriting or resubmitting code… [In-App Marketing] offers a customized app user experience for targeted segments. Its app analytics offering provides session analytics, such as page views, event tagging, user-defined paths and funnels (such as shopping flows), and an ability to define different user segments based on demographic information or event-based rules.
Gartner recommends marketers consider TUNE if:
- You are a performance marketer willing to pay for app downloads and leads.
- You have (or are building) a network of affiliates to help market your apps.
- You need a product that allows non-developers to perform basic A/B tests and swap content in and out easily within your mobile apps.
- Your app shop focuses on design and content more than deep data mining.
