Competition for customer dollars is fierce and many affiliate marketers are turning to video presentations to promote their products. Videos are more visually appealing, easy to create and take advantage of special features available through social networking platforms.

The days of simple websites full of text and a couple of graphics are going the way of the dodo. As Internet users become more demanding as to how information is delivered, affiliate marketers have been compelled to find new ways of grabbing the interest of potential customers as quickly as possible. An informative video can be made in 60 seconds, while reading the same material can take two to three times longer. It may not seem like much, but few people are willing to invest that much time to read a website when they can obtain the same information in a minute or less. Once the video is posted, it takes little effort from the affiliate marketer to maintain since those who like the video pass that information on to others in an online version of word of mouth advertising.

It’s easier to convey emotion in a video and create a personal interaction. Once marketers have the attention of potential customers, they must evoke an emotional response that persuades the customer to purchase. Videos accomplish that in a way plain text never can.

Once the equipment and software has been purchased, an unlimited number of videos can be created that easily pays for the initial monetary outlay. It’s also a cost effective means of advertising, since videos can be posted to a variety of social media sites at little or no cost.

Social media and networking platforms are the most popular means that people use to communicate with each other. The sites tap into the very human desire for people to share what they know with others. They provide affiliate marketers with the means to reach millions of potential customers in a very short time.

Google officials are well aware of the power of videos and the Google search engine attaches more importance to sites with videos than those without. Adding a simple video to a website can increase rankings by as much as 50 percent.

Videos are the online equivalent of TV. They deliver news and information in small bites that are long enough to keep a viewer’s interest, but short enough to avoid boredom. Humans respond more quickly to visual stimulus than they do the written word. Videos are the ideal medium for affiliate marketers to reach the greatest number of potential customers without spending a fortune on marketing.
