Postback attendees share their favorite moments

Postback

Every year, more than 1,000 marketers, ad partners, and CMOs journey to Seattle to mingle with the best in the industry. Postback takes place in the heart of Seattle, with conference views of the iconic Space Needle and unbeatable summer weather. Along with sessions for marketers and ad partners, we take pride in making it the mobile event of the summer with conference perks. Without further ado, here are favorite moments from long-time Postback attendees.

Odezsa, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and Richard Sherman

Rufus Du Sol

Seattle may not be thought of as a modern music hub, but every year the surprise artists at Postback challenge that assumption. In 2015 Odezsa performed, and in 2016 RÜFÜS DU SOL took the stage. Our surprise artist this year is another stunner.

Richard ShermanRyan Ditch, lead support engineer

“I’ve performed as a Postback DJ since the first year, so it broke my heart to miss last year’s event and the amazing opportunity to open for RÜFÜS DU SOL. Unfortunately, I shattered my finger and was fresh out of surgery the day of Postback so there was no opportunity to attend. Not only was I upset to not attend and play music for my co-workers, but I heard Richard Sherman was going to be there and if you know me, you know I live for the Seahawks. While feeling down at home, I got a text message from a coworker with this photo:

Needless to say, this photo was framed and now hangs in my house!”

Beau Sylte, TUNE motion director

“Seeing a musical artist as big as Odesza in a private venue was amazing. I mean … they went and won a Grammy not long after that.”

Malcolm Gladwell and Ray Kurzweil

Last year, keynote speaker Ray Kurzweil shared his view on the future of mobile technology. He is the man who predicts that in 2045, the exponential growth in computing capacity will lead to the Singularity — the lack of distinction between humans and machines. Yup, we are scared and excited. Malcolm Gladwell challenged the industry by telling us the thing that we rely on for our business — data — actually can’t tell us everything.

Ray Kurzweil

Ofir Brill, director of sales

“Ray Kurzweil was the most inspiring speech I’ve heard. He gave me so much food for thought and changed my perspective in many ways.”

Peter Hamilton, CEO

“Sitting down with Ray Kurzweil was a major life event for me. I am a major fan, as far back as when The Singularity is Near hit the shelves, and I have followed his philosophies ever since. He is not only brilliant as an inventor and thinker, but also a fascinating personality. I enjoyed every minute of his keynote as well as our fireside chat on stage, and I must say it will be tough to beat.”

We’re inviting you to be part of this year’s surprises. Buy your ticket and come see us in Seattle.

Oh the people you’ll meet!

Postback is put on to bring marketing insiders together, not to become the largest conference in the industry. We challenge you to walk through the main level of Postback without overhearing conversations that are interesting to you and your business. The quality of mobile marketing attendees is a serious consideration for event invites. We hear of partnerships, friendships and deals that are made at Postback every year, without fail.

Jean-Vincent Chardon, Europe, Middle East and Asia, sales manager

“It’s part of my job to attend a lof of industry conferences and if Postback was in the circuit, it would definitely be in the top three: not relying on ticket sales or selling floor space guarantees that speakers and content are chosen carefully; no pay to speak here. Furthermore, where too many shows have many sellers and few buyers, Postback is more balanced with a healthy mix of advertisers and ad partners alike. Finally, the parties are second to none and an integral part of the event with celebrities walking in, just like that. Who’s going to make it this year?”

Sheila Bhardwaj, director of client success

“I knew immediately that our very first Postback [(2013]) was the start of something special when guests were chatting eagerly in the back of the Maritime Center during a panel, and Peter had to tell everyone to BE QUIET! from the stage so the audience could hear the speakers. Everyone was already ready to connect and do business! Of course, what could you expect when the drinks started flowing around 11 a.m.? Runner-up memory: Who could forget the beautiful sight of Egg McMuffins after a late night out? Mmmmmmm.”

Connor Sliva, head of East Coast sales

“Postback is an event I look forward to every year. The networking opportunities and secret performances are always amazingly done, but the best part of Postback is learning knowledge sharing from the top companies in the performance marketing space. Due to TUNE’s vast clients on both the supply and demand sides of the industry, we get to hear the top ad networks speak to their strategies working with their clients, and also the top brands in the space in how they navigate user acquisition from their perspective.”
