Take Advantage of Dynamic Affiliate Payouts with TUNE

Becky Doles

At TUNE, we know that different partnerships have multiple ways of meeting your business objectives. Whether you work with online affiliate marketers, social influencers, ad networks, mobile app publishers, or anyone in between, each relationship brings its own strength and focus to a partner marketing program. Your goal is to help all of these diverse partnerships achieve their goal: promoting your brand.

To help everyone meet their goals, advertisers must be able to tailor every aspect of a program — especially incentives. TUNE’s dynamic Payout Structures make it easy and intuitive to craft the right incentives and manage customized payout logic that aligns with your business objectives.

What Are Dynamic Affiliate Payouts?

In the TUNE Partner Marketing Platform, customers can take advantage of dynamic payouts that meet their industry-specific needs with Payout Structures. Our payout structures utilize simple logic that dynamically assign the correct payout so that you can customize your affiliate program incentives to meet the unique criteria and rules associated with your commissionable events.

If you’re not familiar with how our payout structures work, don’t worry. Here are some examples of common business verticals and the associated types of partner payout structures you can build within TUNE.

Financial Services

In the TUNE platform, for example, an insurance advertiser can calculate affiliate payouts using the values that determine a lead score (such as customer age, customer gender, and insurance type). The same concept can apply to a loan provider who would use different values, such as product type, loan form, loan amount, and credit score. Both advertisers can do it their own way, as both structures are possible; no matter what you use to score leads, you can pay out on the outcomes with TUNE.

In this example, the partner’s payout is calculated in the same fashion that a lead score could be calculated: using insurance type, customer age, and customer gender.

If the advertisers above are already calculating lead scores in TUNE, those scores can also be passed along and used to determine an affiliate’s commission. Paying out on individual lead scores can be as easy as grouping scores and payout amounts using simple numeric operators.

In this example, the payout is based on lead score and calculated using the numeric operators “greater than or equal to,” “less than or equal to,” and “between.”

E-Commerce Brands

Brands operating in the e-commerce space often build commission rates around product categories and promotional items. Wouldn’t it be great if they could automatically pay affiliates and partners that way, too? Now they can. With TUNE, you can pay out based on the product category, promotional rules, or any other way you can think of.

To pay out on these values, all an advertiser needs to do is to pass these values in the conversion postback or pixel from the shopping cart back to the TUNE platform.

In this example, the product SKU for promotional items earns a specific payout outside of the standard product category payouts, incentivizing affiliates to drive traffic that matches your brand’s goals.

Subscription-Based Businesses

Subscription-based businesses usually sell product tiers or SKUs of their own offering. They most often pay out based on the subscription plan or SKU, whether the customer is new or returning, and the customer’s region. Mix and match any of these variables to create your own unique set of payout rules that are as granular or as general as you want. Then, adjust the order of the payout rules to ensure that the most important rules are evaluated first.

In this example, the subscription tier/SKU, customer status, and region are used to determine the partner’s payout. Region is passed in on the conversion so that the shipping or purchase location used to calculate payout is the same as what the customer used to complete the purchase in the shopping cart.
